Stand-Up By Me

Kortney’s Last Show Podcast, EP 63: BET Awards – Bad Boys Shines like it’s 1993; Kendrick Lamar may not be the greatest

PodcastLogo1400x1400

I talk about the BET Awards. Puff daddy and Bad Boy had the best performances. Everyone showed up. Even Mase and 112 made an experience. Also Lil Kim showed up looking like a Siamese cat. That was startling.

Also Kendrick Lamar had a great performance. Which made me think about how bad his last album was, To Pimp A Butterfly. That got me wondering, could Kendrick be usurped as the best rapper of his time? Maybe J. Cole or Meek Mill could pass him by.

I quickly talk about Donald Trump being Trump and NBA Free Agency

Kortney’s Last Show Podcast, EP 56: Americon Billboard Awards (“We all lip syncing!”)

BillboardAwardsEd

I talk about the con that is the Billboard Awards. Everybody was out there lip syncing with no shame. Except for Ed Sheeran who is not American. That got thinking about who are the most insincere people in America.

I also talk music, Louis CK on SNL, and debut a new segment.

Kortney’s Last Show Podcast, EP 55: Tom Brady’s Deflategate Suspension and Sofía Vergara’s Frozen Eggs

FrozenEggs

On this episode I talk about how ridiculous this whole deflategate thing is. I’m not getting charged up about the psi in a football. However, many people are, and I make fun of them.

I also talk about Sofía Vergara’s frozen eggs.

Diabolical hater of the week is Chris “Mad Dog” Russo.

Kortney’s Last Show Podcast, EP 51: Madonna Kisses Drake, Kanye West Jumps in a Lake, and Streaming Coachella

drake-madonna-kiss

On this episode of The Last Show Podcast I talk about Coachella. That means talk about Madonna kissing Drake. What happened right there? Drakes reaction reminds me of Justin Timberlake’s reaction when he whipped out Janet Jackson’s breast at the super bowl (and what a great super bowl it was. That’s the reason I no longer watch halftime, because nothing can surpass that). He gave that, “Oh this is not the way we rehearsed this” look.

I also talk about Kanye West jumping into a lake in Armenia during a show. I wonder why people followed him into the lake. Didn’t they see that he was getting wet? What’s up with Armenian concert goers? This Kardashian thing is right on track for not ending well.

I nominate an interesting hater of the week, I talk about Alex Rodriguez’s first homerun, and I have a new close to the show.

Kortney’s Last Show Podcast, EP 49: Today I Canceled My Cable; Final Four (Kentucky Style)

CutCable

On This Episode of The Last Show Podcast hosted by, Kortney Shane Williams

I have officially canceled my cable (it was actually me and my wife’s cable, but she doesn’t care if I take all the credit for it), and it feels great. Enough of Comcast’s foolishness.

The only reason I had cable was for sports. However, now with Sling TV I can get sports without a cable package, and it’s on $20. They also gave me a free Amazon Fire Stick, which makes me think this is a bad idea, but who cares. I went from paying $124 to $60. The downside is that I don’t get paper view. That means I have to find a place to watch the Pacquiao v. Mayweather fight. Chances are I will be in a Mexican bar, which could possible end bad. So ending my cable could end up with me paying a hospital bill which would end up costing more than $124.… Read More

Kortney’s Last Show Podcast, EP 48: Kendrick Lamar, To Pimp A Butterfly Album Review; J. Cole, 2014 Forrest Hill Drive

Kendrick&J.Cole

Welcome back to The Last Show Podcast.

On this episode I talk about Kendrick Lamar’s new album, To Pimp A Butterfly. I call it an album review, but I’m not even sure it’s a review. Heck, I’m not even sure it’s a hip-hop album. It is a great work of art that confuses me. I don’t know what Kendrick is talking about. However, I spend time talking about it, and breaking it down.

I also talk about rediscovering the J. Cole, 2014 Forrest Hill Drive album. I heard it when it came out, and I wasn’t that impressed. It was probably because I soured on J. Cole after the Born Sinner album. I wasn’t a fan of that album. I thought it was too clunky. So when 2014 Forrest Hill Drive can out, I probably didn’t give it a fair shake. So I glad I got the opportunity to rediscover the album, while was traveling.… Read More

Kanye West, The Most Creative Artist of This Time (All Day Live Brit Awards)

After reading the headline, a lot of people could think I’m out of my mid. However, those people either haven’t been paying attention, or they’re so deadest on the idea that Kanye West is “The Most Hated Man in America” that they refuse to acknowledge the talent.

I may be guilty of being a prisoner of the moment, but this may be the greatest performance I’ve ever seen (Ever, ever ever, ever ever). The only reason I’m not being absolute, is because I need a couple days to let this sink in. I saw the performance for the first time today, and I have to let it breath. If I claim it’s the best, some dude in Boise will send me a clip of Elvis performing Rappers Delight with The Beatles and I have to retract my statement. But that doesn’t change my claim that Kanye West is the most creative artist of this time.… Read More

Kortney’s Last Show, EP 47: Madonna Falls, Llamas on the loose, and What Color is the Dress

I open the podcast talking about Madonna Falling off stage (I actually open the show talking about someone owing me some money. I need my money). A while ago I talked about Busta Rhymes being too old to be hip-hopping, when he face planted into the second row of the crowd at a concert. Now we can add Madonna to the list of artist too old to be hip-hopping. After she fell on stage while wearing a cape. That’s right Madonna was wearing a cape.

I also talk about “What Color is the Dress” and those llamas that gripped the nation.

I close the show talking James Harden kicking LeBron James in the groin. He should have been thrown out of the game.

Kortney’s Last Show Podcast, EP 45: Brian Williams’ Lies, Kanye and Kendrick new tracks, and Tom Brady’s Money

kendrick-lamar-the-blacker-the-berry

Brian Williams, oh Brian. What happened?

This is an interesting story, but I have no real opinion on it. Because I watch local news. Local news is where all the action is at. Local news reporters have to make news at least 3 days a week, because sometimes nothing happens. Consequently they end up with odd stories about the local dive bar running a pull tab scam. To me that is entertaining and that’s why I don’t watch Brian Williams. However, I am interested in all this lying. Why say you got shot at in a helicopter, when you work on TV. Come on Brian.

So I talk about Brian Williams on the podcast. Also I realized that Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar officially have new songs. I close the show wondering why people always like to count Tom Brady’s money.

Kortney’s Last Show Podcast, EP 44: 57th Grammy Awards, Kanye West, LeBron James v. Kevin Love? and the Cavaliers

2015-Grammys

So I finally got the chance to watch the Grammy Awards, and it was better than I thought it would be. I didn’t know who was on stage, but I was entertained. I did find it interesting that they didn’t present rap album on the year on television. Eminem won that award. So this was a sign to everyone that still had doubt. This whole Eminem thing is over. Dude has to start making better music, or he will continue to get his awards in costume closet.

On this episode of The Last Show Podcast I talk about the 57th Grammy Awards. I also talk about the way LeBron James is dealing with Kevin Love and the Cavaliers organization.
